Using Kraal Scenarios

This section is for new firm users who know the accounting work they need to do, but are still learning where that work lives in Kraal. Each scenario starts from a real operating situation and links to the deeper docs when you need detail.

Use these scenarios as training checklists during the first few client rollouts. They are intentionally practical: start on a page, confirm scope, make the next accounting decision, and know what good looks like before moving on.

  1. Add a client and make them close-ready
  2. Grant day-one authority from the client's own books, right after their history imports
  3. Connect bank intake with Plaid or statement upload
  4. Connect QuickBooks for migration or parallel work, if the client is coming from QBO
  5. Run the daily firm rhythm
  6. Process documents and approve work
  7. Run month-end close
  8. Ask Kraal for reports and analysis
  9. Let Kraal run the routine and review by exception, once you trust the daily rhythm

How to use a scenario

  • Start from the App path at the top of the page.
  • Keep the selected client and entity visible before taking action.
  • Use Daily Board for what needs attention today.
  • Use Work List for the full queue behind Daily Board.
  • Use Explain page (top-right of a workspace page) when you need a read-only, page-specific briefing — it opens the Kraal panel's Ask tab with what's on the page and what needs you, and takes follow-up questions in place.
  • Use Work with Kraal (or a workflow-specific label such as Run Kraal Sweep) when you want Kraal to drive the workflow and hand you the decisions.
  • Use the linked reference docs when you need field-level detail or troubleshooting.

Boundaries to remember

Kraal can prepare, validate, retry, group, and explain work. Posting, client-facing delivery, and accounting judgment remain gated by your firm's review rules unless the backend explicitly marks an action safe to run.

When a scenario says "let Kraal run," it means the item is already classified as safe, bounded, and audit-tracked by Kraal. When a scenario says "review," a person still needs to decide.
