Your Daily Workflow

This guide walks through a recommended morning routine for getting the most out of Kraal. As you get comfortable, you'll develop your own rhythm — but this is a solid starting point.

Morning Check-in (5 minutes)

Step 1: Open Overwatch

When you log in, you'll land on the Overwatch dashboard. Look at the four numbers at the top:

  1. Approvals — Do you have items waiting for your sign-off?
  2. Blocked — Is anything stuck?
  3. Resolved — What did Kraal handle overnight? Click to audit if needed.
  4. Close — Is a month-end close in progress?

Step 2: Scan the Work Items

Look at the work items list below the metrics:

  • High severity items (red) — address these first
  • Review items (orange) — these need your judgment
  • Medium items (yellow) — schedule time to handle these

Step 3: Check Signals

Glance at the right panel:

  • Any new Alerts? These need action.
  • Any Watch items? These are informational but worth knowing about.
  • Anomaly Detection showing Nominal? Good — no unusual patterns detected.

Processing Work (10 minutes)

Step 4: Open Kraven

Click the orange KRAVEN button. Kraven will show you what it can help with for the current client.

  • Review the Run Now count — these are safe actions Kraven can handle
  • Review any Approvals — items waiting for your sign-off
  • Check the Operator Ledger for a clear summary of what's ready

Step 5: Let Kraven Handle Safe Work

  • Items in the "Run Now" lane are read-only checks that won't change your books
  • Select the items you're comfortable with and let Kraven process them
  • Watch the Operator Ledger update as items complete

Step 6: Handle Approvals

  • Review any items in the "Approve Together" section
  • Click Review Details if you need more information on any item
  • Approve batches when you're satisfied, or reject and add notes

Wrapping Up (5 minutes)

Step 7: Check the Work Queue

Open the Work Queue to see the full backlog:

  • Are there any Review Packets with evidence ready for your review?
  • Any Blocked items that need your input?
  • Note any items you want to come back to later

Step 8: Use Command Center as Needed

If you have specific accounting tasks:

  • Open Command Center and use the tools (journal entries, bank reconciliation, reports)
  • Check Review Work to clear any pending approvals
  • Launch Monthly Financial Package if you need client deliverables

Tips for Getting Comfortable

  1. Start with "Plan Only" mode in Kraven — see what it would do before letting it run
  2. Review the Resolved count daily for your first week — audit what Kraal handled to build trust
  3. Use the Activity Log in Kraven after running items, and open the Audit Trail & Execution Feed guide when you need to decide where to review the result
  4. Don't worry about missing something — Overwatch surfaces urgent items automatically and Signals will nudge you about issues before they become problems
  5. Let Kraven handle routine checks — the more you let it process, the more time you save for advisory work
