Day One with a New Client
App path: client onboarding, then the client hub and Autonomy & Trust
Use this scenario right after you connect a new client who arrives with existing books. You do not have to wait weeks for Kraal to earn trust from scratch: the client's own posting history is evidence, and Kraal uses it to offer safe automation on day one.
Goal
Leave the first session with Kraal already authorized to handle the client's proven routine vendors, so the first live transactions post themselves inside conservative limits while everything unproven still asks first.
Why this works
The client's own accountant already made hundreds of categorization decisions in their books. When a merchant has been posted to the same account consistently in that history, that pattern is human-approved evidence by the same standard Kraal uses for its own approvals. Kraal mines those patterns from the imported ledger and treats them as earned history, with the provenance always stated on the receipt ("Based on N postings in this client's own books").
Setup checklist
- Create the client and connect their books (accounting system migration or bank intake plus imported history). See Add a Client and Make Them Close-Ready.
- When the import is ready, look for the day-one authority card: "Based on this client's history, Kraal can already handle N vendors automatically." It appears on the onboarding summary and on the client's hub page.
- Review the vendor list on the card. Each row is a merchant-and-account pattern proven in the client's own ledger.
- Grant per vendor with the checkboxes. Granting gives Kraal standing authority for that vendor's routine categorization only; it does not post anything by itself. Only an owner or firm-admin role can grant.
- Open Autonomy & Trust for the client and confirm the granted vendors show with their "from this client's own books" provenance, alongside anything the trust ladder earns later.
What happens next
- The first live transaction from a granted vendor posts automatically, inside conservative amount limits, with a receipt narrating the history it relied on.
- Vendors you did not grant, new merchants, unusual amounts, and anything outside the routine still ask first and appear in Awaiting your judgment on the Daily Board.
- Money movement, period locks, and anything client-facing always wait for a person, regardless of history.
- If Kraal gets one wrong, undo it with one click. Kraal loses authority for that vendor only and re-earns it with a short run of clean approvals. Your correction is training, not cleanup.
What good looks like
- The first week shows real items in "What Kraal did without you," each with a receipt.
- The judgment queue for the new client contains only genuine decisions, not the routine.
- Every automatic post's receipt states its provenance, and undo is one click away.
- Nothing money-moving or client-facing ever posts automatically.
