Cultivation Workspace

The Cultivation workspace tracks plant, harvest, and compliance operations for cultivation clients and ties them to accounting outcomes such as close readiness, 280E cost treatment, and intercompany transfer pricing.

Cultivation is enabled per client: only clients set up with a cultivation profile see the workspace. For those clients, it appears as Cultivation in the Inventory workspace sidebar.

Overview

The Overview page summarizes the state of cultivation operations for the selected client:

• Harvests in progress, lab blockers, and METRC drift counts.
• 280E allocation status and yield variance.
• Lifecycle counts — how many plant batches sit in each lifecycle state.
• Close-gate blockers — cultivation compliance issues (such as a missing or expired certificate of analysis, or missing tax treatment) that block the accounting close until resolved.

Use the Overview as your starting point: if a number looks wrong, the matching area below has the detail.

Areas

Area	What it shows
Strains	Strain master data with status.
Plant inventory	Plant batches with strain, room, plant count, tracking tag, and lifecycle state. Filter by strain, room, or lifecycle state. Move a batch to its next allowed lifecycle state directly from the list; blocked transitions show the reason.
Rooms	Cultivation room master data with status and zone.
Harvests	Harvest batches with wet, dry, trim, waste, and packaged weights, plus yield variance per batch.
Lab tests	Lab test records per harvest batch, with status, certificate of analysis reference, and upload date.
Destruction logs	Destruction records per harvest batch, with witness, sign-off, and reason.
METRC reconciliation	The METRC track-and-trace sync state, last sync time, and a drift list of differences between Kraal and METRC. Authorized users can request a sync from this page.
280E worksheet	Deductible and disallowed totals, with line detail across direct cultivation costs, includible overhead, and disallowed selling/admin, plus CPA review rationale and supporting references.
Transfer pricing	Intercompany transfer review from cultivation to packaging or distribution entities, with counterparty, rationale, status, and audit references.

How it connects to accounting

Cultivation is not a standalone tracker — it feeds the client's books and close:

• Close-gate blockers from cultivation appear on the Overview and hold up the period close until resolved, so compliance gaps are fixed before the books are finalized.
• The 280E worksheet documents how cultivation costs are classified for tax treatment, with rationale a reviewer can trace.
• Transfer pricing review documents intercompany movements between the cultivation entity and related entities.

Availability

The Cultivation workspace is available only for clients on a cultivation profile. If a client should have it and the Cultivation entry does not appear in their Inventory workspace sidebar, ask your Kraal administrator to review the client's profile setup.
