Appearance
Overwatch Dashboard
Overwatch is your morning starting point. It gives you a portfolio-wide view of what needs your attention across all clients.
What You See When You Open Overwatch
The Headline
At the top, Overwatch tells you "What needs judgment now" — a summary of items that require your professional review.
The Four Key Numbers
| Metric | What It Counts | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Approvals | Items Kraal identified that need your sign-off before they can proceed | Click to see items waiting for your review |
| Blocked | Items that can't move forward — waiting on your input, a missing setup step, or client action | Click to see what's stuck and why |
| Resolved | Items Kraal handled today — click to audit what changed | Review periodically to verify automated actions |
| Close | Month-end close status — shows N/A when no close cycle is active | Check during close periods |
TIP
Each metric card is clickable. Click any number to drill into the specific items behind it.
Portfolio Scope
Overwatch shows work across all your clients by default. You'll see a scope note confirming this:
Portfolio scope: all clients. Overwatch counts active work across all clients.
If you want to focus on a single client, use the dropdown to filter.
The Work Items List
Below the metrics, you'll see a prioritized list of work items. Each row shows:
- Classification badge — the severity (High, Review, Medium)
- Description — what the issue is, in accounting terms
- Category and status — where the item came from and its current state
- Action button — click to open the right screen and act on it
Common work items you'll see
| Item Type | What It Means | Typical Action |
|---|---|---|
| Close blockers | Something is preventing month-end close from completing | Open the close workspace to investigate |
| Cash balance alerts | A client's bank balance has dropped below a threshold | Review the cash context and assess risk |
| AP aging exceptions | Bills are overdue beyond the configured threshold | Review aging details and follow up |
| AR aging exceptions | Invoices haven't been collected beyond the threshold | Review outstanding amounts and follow up with clients |
| Inventory exceptions | Stock discrepancies or integration issues detected | Open the exception inbox to review |
| Sync blockers | Data synchronization issues with the connected accounting system | Open dispatch to resolve |
The Right Panel
On the right side of Overwatch, you'll find three supporting sections:
Client Requests
Shows pending requests, document uploads, and approval items from your clients. This is where client collaboration surfaces.
Signals
Evidence-backed alerts that surface issues before you go looking for them. Each signal has an Acknowledge or Dismiss button.
- Watch signals are informational — something to be aware of
- Alert signals need action — something is blocking progress
Anomaly Detection
Shows whether Kraal has detected unusual patterns in your accounting data. A Nominal status means no concerns.
What To Do Next
After reviewing Overwatch:
- Address any High items — these are urgent
- Review any Approval items — these are waiting on your judgment
- Open Kraven (orange button, top right) to process items efficiently
- Check Signals — dismiss anything you've already handled
