ChatIQ

ChatIQ is where you ask Kraal accounting questions, shape requests, generate reports, continue conversations, and open the right workspace. It is not the same surface as the Command Center: ChatIQ is the conversational assistant, while the Command Center is the AI task console where task runs, approvals, and artifacts live — you'll see it as Current Work in the accounting workspace sidebar and as Command Center in the workspace footer utilities.

Getting There

Open ChatIQ from the app's navigation drawer or the ChatIQ shortcut in any workspace footer, or open Ask Kraal from a supported workspace.

What You See

Client Context

At the top, you'll see which client and entity you're working with. Confirm this scope before asking entity-specific questions or generating reports.

Quick picks

Use quick picks such as Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Cash forecast (the next 13 weeks), Cash flow, AR/AP, Low Stock, Close Status, or Client Analysis when you want a structured request without typing from scratch. Structured requests also cover Budget vs actual — an optional as-of date picks the fiscal year, and the report covers that whole fiscal year.

Common ways to use ChatIQ

Ask a client question

Type a description of what you need. Examples:

  • "Post the March rent accrual"
  • "Review the bank reconciliation for checking account"
  • "Generate the monthly financial package"
  • "Show AR aging as of today"
  • "Explain the biggest inventory exception"

Open in workspace

Use workspace chips when the work belongs in a dedicated page:

  • Process documents
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Monthly close
  • Report packs

Review results

Kraal may return a narrative answer, table, source notes, and downloadable artifacts. Review the evidence before sending client-facing work.

Conversation history

The conversations drawer lets you search and reopen previous conversations that your account can access. Use it when you need to continue a client analysis or return to a report explanation.

Pick up where you left off

Conversations are saved to your account, not to one browser. Reopen a conversation on another device — or after clearing your browser data — and the full transcript loads from the server, including your earlier ratings. If a network hiccup interrupts loading, ChatIQ keeps whatever local copy it has and recovers on the next open.

Clearing a conversation removes its messages and any ratings you left in it.

Rate answers

Use the thumbs up / thumbs down controls under an answer to tell us whether it helped:

  1. Thumbs up records that the answer worked for you.
  2. Thumbs down opens an optional one-line box — say what was wrong (for example, "used the wrong period"). Sending the reason is optional but makes the feedback far more useful.
  3. Changed your mind? Vote again — your new rating replaces the old one.

Ratings are saved with the conversation, so they're still there when you come back on another device. Ratings and reasons go to the team that tunes ChatIQ; they never change the answer in place.

Tips

  • Confirm client and entity scope before relying on the answer.
  • Use workspace links when the work requires editing, approval, or posting.
  • Review artifacts before sending or filing them.
  • Use Audit Center or task detail when you need the durable review trail.
