Mobile App Setup

Kraal can be added to your phone so you can open urgent accounting alerts, approvals, and follow-ups quickly when you are away from your desktop. Once installed, see Using Dispatch on Your Phone for what you can do from the app.

Alerts are the reason to install it. Adding Kraal to your home screen is the means; being told when something urgent needs you is the benefit — and on iPhone and iPad, notifications only work once the app is on your home screen.

Two things to expect before you start:

  • Only urgent items notify you. Everything else waits in your list, so alerts stay worth reading.
  • On iPhone and iPad, you must add Kraal to the home screen before it can ask for notification permission.

Settings → Kraal on your phone

This is the permanent home for install steps, the QR code, and the alerts switch: Settings → General → Kraal on your phone. It tells you whether this device has Kraal installed and whether alerts are on here.

Kraal may also show a one-line setup prompt inside Dispatch on desktop. It is not required, and hiding it does not lose anything — the Settings page keeps everything. The prompt disappears on its own once the app is installed or alerts are turned on; you never have to tell Kraal you have finished.

iPhone and iPad

Use Safari for the most reliable install flow.

  1. Open Kraal on your device.
  2. Tap the Share button.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Confirm the name and tap Add.

Android

Use Chrome or another browser that supports installing web apps.

  1. Open Kraal on your device.
  2. Open the browser menu.
  3. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm the install.

Home-Screen Shortcuts

On Android, Chrome and other supporting browsers may add shortcuts to the installed Kraal icon. Press and hold the icon to jump straight to:

  • Inbox — what needs your attention.
  • Approvals — items waiting on your approval, grouped first.
  • Snap a document — the capture card, one tap from the camera.

iPhone and iPad home-screen apps installed from Safari do not expose these manifest shortcuts. Open Kraal and use the same destinations inside the app instead.

If You Hid the Prompt

Nothing is lost. Settings → General → Kraal on your phone keeps the QR code, the install steps, and the alerts switch, and you can install from your phone browser's add-to-home-screen option at any time.

No Install Required

Installing is a convenience, not a requirement — except for alerts on iPhone and iPad, which need it. Opening Kraal in your phone browser shows the same lean surface — the same inbox, approvals, and document capture — without adding it to your home screen.
